Overview: Johannesburg Zoo is a great destination for a family outing. Founded in 1904, the Zoo is 54 hectares big and well established.

A menagerie of African animals live at the Zoo and many exotic creatures from different parts of the world. Look out for the red pandas, polar bears, rare white lions and endangered African wild dogs.

Smaller tots will enjoy the animal farmyard as well as the funfair.

A great way of getting around while exploring is on the ferry go round (operational on weekends) or to hire a motorized zoo buggy.
