Overview:Art appreciation is an important aspect of children’s cultural education. Introduce your children to art by visiting the Durban Art Gallery. Make the outing fun and easy by pointing out features of different artworks. Use your own appreciation to familiarize your child with different artists and encourage observation by pointing out specific styles, techniques, colours and the feelings they evoke in you.  Ask your child for his or her input to set up their own first memories of art appreciation.

The Durban Art Gallery also offers many workshops and exhibitions and  kids of all ages can find the artists within. Phone for details.

Guided tours are also offered for school groups – please contact our Education Officers.
