Overview:The Duck ‘n Deck Animal Farm is nestled in the Assagay valley and provides a superb and entertaining environment in which children can get close to nature and touch, feel and interact with animals. The adults can enjoy the tranquility of the countryside while having refreshments or a bite to eat at the tea garden.

The Duck ‘n Deck boasts 20 species of exotic ducks and a pair of black swans in a landscaped garden. The aviaries are stocked with a variety of birds and pheasants. You can view  ‘Alphie’, the Alpaca and Emus. There are alpine, dwarf and rare cashmere goats, indigenous sheep and fowls. .

Biscuit and Rascal are Shetland ponies which the children can ride, Eeyore and Jill provide donkey cart rides (only on Saturdays, Sundays, public and school holidays).

The latest activity offered is candle dipping.

Where are we: The Duck ‘n Deck is about 15 minutes drive from the Pavilion.

From the N3 or M13 take the Shongweni/Assagay/Hillcrest turn off.  The Duck ‘n Deck sign is 2.5km from the N3, 1.5km from the M13. Turn right – 3 Willow Way, Assagay (off Kassier Rd)
