Overview: CROW is a non profit non-government funded operation that relies solely on the public and corporate companies for donations. CROW rescues, rehabilitates and releases all wildlife back into their natural environment. CROW admits up to 3 000 mammals birds and reptiles ever year. CROW motto is “The best cage is an empty cage”.

We have a very active Volunteer program and are delighted to welcome local and international volunteers at CROW, as a charity organisation there are always more mouths to feed than hands to feed them, so every helping hand is greatly appreciated.  We have a volunteer house that accommodates up to 8 volunteers at a time, and includes 3 basic meals a day. Advance booking is advised as CROW is very popular with volunteers.

Volunteer duties and responsibilities are linked with level of experience so we have something for everyone, from feeds to assisting nurses in the clinic to grounds work to assisting in rescues and releases..... we have approximately 300 - 400 animals under our care at any given time, all of which are wildlife indigenous to KwaZulu Natal, from birds and mammals to raptors and reptiles, and many many monkeys ...We also have a very busy Educational Program at CROW, so if education 'is your thing', we would welcome any help and advice on this aspect of our work.
