Table Mountain is Cape Town’s top attraction, the BIG ONE to visit. When the weather is good, schedule your trip up the Mountain for spectacular views of the city and orientation of the Peninsula.
The Table Mountain National Park forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, a World Heritage site, which boasts the richest floral kingdom in the world with over 1460 species of flowers, mostly fynbos.
Small animals live on the Mountain and while walking around you may catch sight of dassies, porcupines, mongooses, lizards, snakes, birds and butterflies.
The trip on the cable car is also a scenic adventure – the rotating floor, gives passengers a 360 degree view on the way up or down.

In winter, first departure is scheduled for 8.30am and the last returns at 6pm. If you’re unsure whether weather conditions permit, phone to check. Cars leave at 10 to 15 minute intervals and the ride is about 10 minutes.

From the CBD, take Buitengracht Str towards the Mountain, after crossing Camp Str, Buitengracht becomes Kloof Nek Road. Follow Kloof Nek to traffic circle, then turn left at Tafelberg Rd and follow signs. The station is about 10 minutes from the CBD.
