 | | Overview: Boulders Beach in Simonstown is home to a delightful African penguin colony. In their tuxedoed best, these birds will enthrall you and your little ones as they go about their daily routines - shuffling on the beach, swimming, playing, preening themselves and schmoozing with their partners, who they mate with for life. The penquins’ braying resembles that of a donkey, which is why they were previously referred to as ‘jackass’ penguins. Another name is the black-footed penguins. You can get a great view looking down from boardwalks for a wonderful live and dynamic display of these quirky creatures.
